The Marvel Universe and the Ultimate Universe finally meet in Spider-Men!
They teased it in Ultimate Fantastic Four
, when they turned out to be Zombies, but now it's finally happening, the Marvel Universe and the Ultimate Universe are coming together in Spider-Men
, a 5-issue mini-series out this july.
The series, written and drawn by the Ultimate Comics Spider-Man
team of Brian Michael Bendis and Sara Pichelli, has been teased, but Marvel had remained cryptic on what it was actually about. Most guessed that it would be a meeting between Peter Parker and the Ultimate Universe's new Spider-Man
Miles Morales, and they were right!
Not only is it the first crossover between Marvel's two most popular universes, but it's also the centrepiece of Spider-Man
's 50th Anniversary, and to my mind, it's a hell of a way to celebrate it. I always thought that a crossover between Regular Peter Parker and Ultimate Peter Parker would be pointless, but now that the Ultimate Universe has a whole new Spidey... it's a different ballgame.
