In a continuing effort to destroy local comic book shops and the direct market, DC Comics has opened its own online store to sell collectibles, merchandise, and trade paperbacks directly to fans.
As if offering digital comic books on the same day as print ones isn't enough of an insult, DC Comics fired the latest shot in the War on the Direct Market when it announced the grand opening of its new Online Collectibles Store, which even offers exclusive products that you can't find anywhere else.
"The first two online exclusives are available for purchase during the month of May. The first is a Flashpoint Action Figure Box Set including: Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash and a previously unreleased Emperor Aquaman. The set also include a $500 Wayne Casino Poker Chip. The second exclusive is a Heroes of the DC Universe: Blackest Night Green Lantern and Sinestro Bust."
The store also stocks a selection of trade paperbacks and graphic novels, as well as comic book branded apparel for the discerning comic book fan who feels that being overweight and socially inept just isn't enough and wants to go the extra mile toward ensuring lasting virginity. Orders are free over $50.
The Outhouse asked DC Comics glorious leader Dan Didio for comment, but he was unavailable, telling us, "I have to go now. I'm having an old friend for dinner."
