The Dark Horse comic is becoming a smartphone game.
In today's "Random but Awesome" news, Stan Sakai announced that Usagi Yojimbo, the star of his long running Dark Horse series, was being immortalized as a smartphone game. Usagi Yojimbo: Way of the Ronin
will first be released as a smartphone and tablet app before hitting desktop computers later this summer. Should the game go viral, it's quite possible that Usagi Yojimbo will reach a new level of mainstream awareness.
This isn't the first time that smartphone games and comic books have collided. Pocket God
, the perennial bestselling video game, has released online comic books that have allegedly sold millions of copies. If Usagi Yojimbo
can even get a tenth of those sales, it would become one of the bestselling comics on the market.
