The Outhouse's "funny" news initiative faces a gut check as Marvel releases the most boring preview in the history of previews.
This afternoon, Marvel released a preview of Wolverine and the X-Men #13. However, when sent to the Outhouse, not a single writer could come up with anything funny to say. "This is the equivalent to an Adam Sandler movie," said notable news team member ThanosCopter.
The preview was passed around between everyone who has ever written for the Outhouse, but despite their best efforts, no one could come up with anything even mildly amusing. Speaking of being passed around, "I've never been given so little to work with," added editor and columnist Starlord (at least we presume that's what he was talking about).
Wolverine and the X-Men #13 promises to reveal the secret history of Warbird, known for being one of the least interesting X-characters since Sammy the Fish Boy. "This is my sort of preview," said Stoneman, head of Outhouse standards and practices. "Boring, witless and predictable."
Marvel Comics denies that the preview is part of a new strategy to make comic book journalism safer and more homogeneous. "Sites like ComicBookResources have been doing that without our urging for years now," said an anonymous source at Marvel that we completely made up. "Why fix something that isn't broken?"
Wolverine and the X-Men hits stores on July 11.
