Disney is making a new cartoon called 7D, and the titular D's are looking very "kid-friendly."
We are all aware at this point of Marvel Animation head Jeph Loeb's lack of respect for the intelligence of children, as evidenced by his mission to make all Marvel cartoons more "kid-friendly" by taking away complex, quality storytelling and replacing it with goofiness and inanity. But has Loeb's influence gone too far?
revealed the concept art for Disney new cartoon 7D, which takes the concept of the dwarves from Disney's hit 1937 animated feature Snow White, deemed by many to feature very complicated adult themes that dumb kids could never understand, and completely mixes things up. Snow white is gone, and the Dwarves are now a band of mercenaries living in the modern storybook world of Jollywood. They are hired by Queen Delightful to combat the villains Grim and Hildy Gloom, who want to steal magical jewels from the dwarves' mine. There has also been a major updating of the look of the Dwarves, which you can see below, and which makes this reporter's head spin.
The series is due out in 2014, giving the studio plenty of time to release a better and more popular cartoon with which to replace them, if they so desire.
