DC released an article on their website talking about how much they love their own comic, Before Watchmen.
File this one in the "No Shit, Sherlock" category. DC published an article on their site today praising their Before Watchmen line of Watchmen prequel comics, and listing the 5.2 reasons why they love it. It is actually 7 reasons, but the sixth and seventh reasons were numbered 5.1 and 5.2 because DC has somehow managed, as an entire corporate entity, to have developed some weird, obsessive-compulsive fascination with the number 52.
The reasons listed for why DC loves Before Watchmen are as follows:
1. Darwyn Cooke
2. Amanda Conner drawing Silk Spectre
3. Set Up to the Punchline
4. Joe and Andy Kubert
5. The Past is Present
5.1 Jim Lee Variant Covers
5.2 The Entire Thing Gets Us Excited for What's Next
The Outhouse would like to suggest that DC add the following additions to the list:
5.3 It Pisses Off Alan Moore, and We Think That's Funny
62.7 It Pisses Off Fanboys, Which Is Also Funny
Read the article at DC's website.
On the net in places not owned by Warner Bros., reaction to Before Watchmen has been mixed, but it has certainly been receiving some positive reviews.
What would you add to DC's list?
