The Marvel Relaunch Takes Shape

Warning...a new Marvel Universe approaches!

The Internet cracked in half early this morning when a CBR member leaked details about the upcoming Marvel NOW! relaunch and confirmed three titles first hinted at by Bleeding Cool reporter and didgeridoo enthusiast Rich Johnston.

Uncanny Avengers will feature a mixed team of Avengers and X-Men, including Thor, Rogue and Havok and will be led by Captain America and Wolverine.  Although no plot details are available, it's believed that the plot will focus on Wolverine's attempts to rehabilitate the Avengers, most of whom have degenerated to child beaters and abusers in Avengers vs. X-Men.  The book will be written by Rick Remender.

The Avengers will allegedly feature a cast of eighteen Avengers and will be helmed by Jonathan Hickman.  The book will run bi-weekly and will feature a combination of multi-issue and single issue arcs.  We're predicting that Hickman will actually use the bevy of Avengers in his book, unlike Bendis who was infamous for adding cast members only to use them as background characters until killing them off or exiling them in space.

Speaking of Bendis, X-Men will be written by Brian Bendis and will feature the original five X-Men appearing in the modern day from their past as teenagers.  In an interesting bit of commentary, the team will be utterly horrified by the present state of the X-books and will try to take steps to prevent the Marvel editorial team from defecating on the line in the past.  The book will also feature an alive Jean Grey.

The leak also contained a promotional page which featured Rocket Raccoon looking like a badass, Nova, black Nick Fury and Cyclops in a new villainous looking helmet.

So sound off, true believers.  How does the not-relaunch sound?
