The first of five reveals for the Marvel NOW! anthology are revealed in this teaser!
Source: Press Release
Marvel sent us a teaser for the Marvel NOW! anthology, Marvel NOW! Point One, which was announced at San Diego Comic Con this past weekend. The promo art / possible cover image for the anthology features Black Fury, a needlessly shoehorned son of Nick Fury designed to make the Marvel comics universe resemble the Marvel movie universe, looking very stern as he habhazardly tosses a batch of files at the reader. This reporter is no expert on S.H.I.E.L.D. protocol, but I find it unlikely that classified documents are meant to be handled in such a manner, so perhaps Black Fury should direct his disapproving gaze into the mirror.
In any case, the files on the image released at comic had question marks on them, but this new teaser reveals an image of a character on one of the files: the time-travelling, giant-gun toting, mysterious powers having mercenary / messianic figure Cable. Cable is the son of hated X-Men character Scott Summers and his dead wife Jean Grey, and the adoptive father of Hope, and also has a history with Deadpool and the characters currently in New Mutants, so the most likely scenario for his return is a team-up book with Wolverine.
Marvel NOW! Point One will hit comic shops in October, so we'll have to wait until the middle of September for Rich Johnston to spoil the plot on Bleeding Cool. Here's the press release:
