Season 2 of "American Horror Story" begins production this week. The newest addition to the Season 2 cast is former "All My Children" star Mark Consuelos (husband of daytime's Kelly Ripa) is joining the FX channel hit show as a patient named Spivey.
Consuelos joins the Season 1 returning cast of Jessica Lange ("Constance"), Evan Peters ("Tate Langdon"), Zachary Quinto ("Chad Warwick"), Lily Rabe ("Nora Montgomery") and Sarah Paulson ("Billie Dean Howard"), plus newcomers to the show James Cromwell, Adam Levine, Chloe Sevigny, Joseph Fiennes and Lizzie Brochere.
For the new season the location is changed and will feature an East Coast institution for the criminally insane set in the 1960s.
According to the Huffington Post, Lange's break-out character, Constance, will be slightly different this time around:
"She's not playing this kind of ersatz Tennessee Williams character this time. She's playing something that's a little more East Coast, a little more patrician.
Unlike Constance, the darkly-motivated antagonist of the show's first season, Lange's new persona is much more pure and innocent. She's playing a nun, She's playing an administrator of a facility. It's different. In this instance, she's a bride of Christ."
Also revealed is that this time around, Tate Langdon, will be the hero of the show. The actors are all playing different parts and using different accents to reflect the East Coast setting set in the past.
