With a little less than 6 weeks to go till release, Marvel VS Capcom 3 fever is beginning to spread, and the latest announcement just adds more fuel to the fire, as Capcom has confirmed the playability of both Phoenix and Haggar this morning at the 2011 CES. Both characters will be making their first playable appearance in the long running Versus Fighting Game Series, with Jean Grey making her first playable appearance in a Capcom Fighting Game to date. Haggar (a long requested addition by many) will finally make his debut in a major Fighting Game, after being involved in the long forgotten "Final Fight Revenge", and the canceled "Capcom Fighting All-Stars."
Many gamers of all dedication levels will have at least a working familiarity with both of these characters due to their sustaining popularity, despite sparseness of use in recent memory. (Jean Grey has been "dead" in the Comics for nearly 7 Years and Haggar would go several years at a time between his use outside of background roles) This announcement brings the amount of confirmed playable characters to 34 with more characters rumored to be announced before the big release date of February 15th, Marvel VS Capcom 3 is shaping up to be a game that appeals to many demographics with its diverse and expansive roster.
