- Written by Jude Terror on Tuesday, December 20 2011 and posted in News Archive
Hermes Press continues to celebrate the vampires, werewolves, ghosts, witches-and more- of Collinwood with their series of Dark Shadows reprint books.
Firstly, Dark Shadows: The Complete Series-Volume 3 comes out in stores everywhere this Wednesday, continuing the 1970s comic book adventures of Barnabas Collins-right in time for the holidays With more stories by Arnold Drake and Donald Arneson, an art by Joe Certa, this digitally remastered hardcover also contains a plethora of long-forbidden and lost set and cast photos. Reprinted from the long-running Gold Key comic book, this mid-point volume promises to further put you under the spell of the supernatural denizens from the classic TV show.
If you're plugged into the digital side of things, Dark Shadows: The Complete Series--Volume 2 and Volume 3, as well as The Dark Shadows Story Digest, are now live on iVerse for your iPad or iPhone.
In anticipation of another celebration: the May 5, 2012 release of the Tim Burton Dark Shadows films, starring Johnny Depp, Hermes Press will release The Best of Dark Shadows, an omnibus-style paperback compilation of only the greatest vintage comic book stories. The Best of Dark Shadows will make a perfect bookend to the complete Dark Shadows hardcover set, and will also be a wonderful gateway for those newly converted to the world of the Collins family.
If you can't wait that long to learn about the film, we have highlight footage of our New York Comic Con panel with classic Dark Shadows stars Lara Parker and Kathryn Leigh Scott on our YouTube channel.
Hopefully this will stave off any Dark Shadows cravings until the movie and Best of Dark Shadows jump out of the shadows and onto movie screens and bookshelves everywhere!
