What fan favorite character might be making a long-awaited return in the Amazing Spider-Man movie?! Read on to find out!
In an exclusive news coup sure to enrage those stiffs over at ComicBookResources, The Outhouse has learned that the Spider-Mobile may be making a comeback in the Sony Pictures film The Amazing Spider-Man, in theaters July 3rd, 2012! Marvel published a story earlier today announcing Hasbro's new line of toys tying into the Spider-Man movie, and the pictures revealed a rebooted Spider-Mobile in all its vehicular glory!
The Spider-Mobile first appeared in Amazing Spider-Man #130 in 1976, created by Johnny Storm in conjunction with Corona Motors, and went on to become one of the most beloved characters in comics history, provided one is willing to allow a very loose definition for the words "beloved" and "character." Though references have been made to the vehicle over the years, mainly through derisive jokes made by Spider-Man or The Human Torch, fans have only been teased by a return... until now! Maybe! We could be wrong!
Though the new vehicle features an updated, more modern look and appears to have received an extreme renaming as the Spider-Strike Battle Racer, longtime fans will recognize this as the Spider-Mobile they know and love. Pics below.
