Damon Lindelof defends LOST in this video interview, but the interviewer himself is far more fascinating.

I found this interview with LOST creator Damon Lindelof on SFX this morning, and as a person extremely disappointed by the LOST finale, this reporter was excited to hear Lindelof's take on it. Of course, his defense is the usual blaming the fans for actually expecting answers to mysteries and claiming that the show was character driven. "I will pull at least ten interviews of me on television saying 'If you are watching this show for the mysteries, you will be disappointed,'" he says. Well, no surprise there.
However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that there was something even more wonderful at play here - watching a LOST fanboy attempt to ask Damon Lindelof a critical question is a beautifully character driven moment in itself. The interviewer spends literally 2:05 minutes just trying to get the first question out, digressing into multiple apologies and explanations before he allows Lindelof to answer. Like a good mesiah, Lindelof forgives the interviewer eventually and even validates his concerns. It is simply fascinating to watch the engagement.
