Bethesda, in advance of more information coming for their Skyrim DLC: Dawnguard at E3 next week has released a trailer for the DLC.
Rumors have been flying about what the new DLC will consist of and those rumors have ranged from Crossbows to Spears to Snow Elves to Vampires. These rumors have been mostly due to someone dissecting some files in a recent patch, although hope and speculation have added to them.
The trailer however gives us a few concrete details. We see the storyline of the DLC will focus on Vampires. The player will be able to choose sides whether he wishes to become a master vampire himself or join the Dawnguard in the fight against these evil creatures.
Crossbows have also been added, though no clear sign of spears. The other big rumor: Snow Elves have not been spotted yet either, though their twisted descendants the Falmer are featured which gives some fans hope.
Below we've featured some screen caps from the trailer for those not wanting to examine it more closely themselves showing some of the new equipment spotted. Aside from crossbows, a few new pieces of armor (probably Dawnguard armor) has been spotted, a new axe (possibly silver), perhaps a new sword and a new shield and bow as well.
And for fans not aware of the recent news for patch 1.6 in beta test for PC right now: Mounted Combat is being added to the game. This is actually part of said patch and will roll out to all platforms before the launch of the DLC so players will receive this whether they purchase the DLC or not.
No announcement has been made for the official release date yet, but more news is expected next week at E3. The only thing we know for sure about it is that the DLC will be XBox exclusive for 30 days before coming to PC and PS3.
