Hans Gruber Handling Man of Steel Musical Score

The Die Hard villain will be composing the music for Zack Snyder's upcoming Superman movie.
It's certainly a surprising choice, considering we were unaware that Gruber had any prior musical background. In addition, the terrorist was presumed dead following the events at the Nakatomi Plaza building in Los Angeles in 1988, where renegade New York City police officer John McClane... hang on a second, we're getting a report over the newswire...
Ah. It turns out it is not Hans Gruber, but Hans Zimmer who will be composing the music for Man of Steel. That makes a lot more sense.
Zimmer, a favorite of Chris Nolan who has handled the music on all of Nolan's Batman films, as well as Inception, beats out Snyder favorite Tyler Bates, who worked on Snyder's Dawn of the Dead, Watchmen, 300, and Sucker Punch.
We're not sure if any feelings were hurt in the decision, but we imagine that if they were, it went something like this:
Zimmer: "Did you really think you could win against us, Mr. Cowboy?"
Bates: "Yippie-ki-yay, motherfucker."
Man of Steel is scheduled for release on June 14, 2013.
