A tabloid pictures seems to suggest so!
Earlier this month, Avi Arad hinted that Marvel Studios was working on a saw for a Spider-Man appearance in an upcoming Avengers film. While the thought seemed unlikely due to Sony owning the Spider-Man rights, it remained an intriguing possibility, fueled in part by Joss Whedon's admission that the Oscorp Building, owned by Spider-Man villain Norman Osborn, was originally planned to be added to the skyline in the first Avengers film.
Now, we have another kernel of evidence that suggests that Marvel may be gearing up for a spectacular cameo. The Daily Mail has released paparazzi photos of Amazing Spider-Man star Andrew Garfield, or a lifeless manniquin that looks exactly like him, holding several issues of Avengers Assemble, a Marvel series featuring the Avengers line-up from the movie facing off against probable Avengers 2 villain Thanos.
Garfield, who's British, could only muster a few garbled words including "Spider-Man", "movie", "bangers and mash" and "guvna", giving absolutely no insight as to why he had comic books in a public place. Judging by the blank look on his face, he's probably ashamed to be seen with comics outside, a common trait among British twenty-somethings.
