In which something weird happens to Gael Garcia Bernal and Hani Furstenberg in the mountains.
Ah nature. Mother Earth. Gaia.
Nothing good ever happens there.
At least, something not too good happens to impossibly gorgeous actors Gael Garcia Bernal and Hani Furstenberg in Julia Loktev's The Loneliest Planet. The trailer for the film starts off harmlessly enough. The two lovers go liking in the mountains of Eastern Europe, and everything is lovely and wonderful. Then...something happens. We have no idea what, but it has quite an effect on our intrepid hikers.
The Loneliest Planet looks like it's been shot beautifully, and the sense of mystery and atmospheric creepiness is wonderful and appropriate for a Halloween weekend release. Consider us intrigued...
