Valiant Preview: Quantum & Woody #1 Talking Goat Cover

Sometimes you want a comic. Sometimes, you want a goat.

Source: Press Release

If there's one thing Quantum & Woody fans dig, it's Quantum & Woody comics. If there's something else they like, it's a talking goat. Well, our friends at Valiant have Quantum & Woody fans covered. Valiant has sent over a trailer of sorts of what the "talking goat" variant cover for the upcoming Quantum & Woody #1. It's simple, really. Get your hands on the "talking goat" variant, scan the code with your smartphone of choice, and, if the animatic below is any indication, hear a Tom Fowler-rendered goat say the name of the book in a voice that you will hear in your nightmares.

It's a historic event for two reasons. It's the first time anyone has published a talking cover to a comic book, and it will be the first time in history anyone has ever scanned one of those QR codes.

Valiant is proud to present an advance look at the rough animatics for the Quantum & Woody #1 QR Voice Variant – a talking variant cover featuring art by Tom Fowler, script by James Asmus and animation by Neal Adam's Continuity Studios!  Experience the real talking goat action for yourself this summer when Valiant releases free promotional posters featuring the Goat's QR-enabled first appearance in comic shops everywhere!
Then, meet the Goat and the heroes who tolerate him on July 10th in Quantum and Woody #1 – the FIRST ISSUE of Valiant's next ongoing series by James Asmus and Tom Fowler with color art byJordie Bellaire. Relaunching the cult favorite superhero duo made famous by Christopher Priest and M.D. Bright in the all-new Valiant Universe, get ready to go big or go home as the world's worst superhero team begin a brand new era. After estranged brothers Eric and Woody Henderson accidentally stumble into a life-altering scientific accident, they'll find themselves with a whole new purpose – and a perfectly legitimate reason to wear costumes and fight crime. Quantum and Woody are coming this July!

Using any QR code application, fans worldwide can experience the Goat's ennui-laden soliloquy using any smartphone or tablet device. Merely scan the QR code and watch in awe as the Valiant Universe's next breakout star comes alive, as voiced by Sheldon Lee.
A comics innovation pioneered by Valiant Entertainment, the world's first QR Voice Variant debuted in May 2012 alongside the publisher's first release, X-O Manowar #1, and has accrued some 70,000 online views and widespread acclaim from fans and retailers.
