BOOM! Studios continues to present America’s greatest action hero translated into the sequential art form for the first time! Drunks, pimps, freaks and the debauched rich. It’s all in a night’s work for NYPD rookie John McClane. But what happens when 1976’s toughest kid on the street runs into a dark conspiracy involving a blonde on the run? With McClane, it means the fun’s just starting. Join legendary industry creator Howard Chaykin on a thrill ride that’s rung up over $1 billion in box office worldwide and become the gold standard for classic action! Yippee Ki Yay!

Story:

We pick up right where we left off, young innocent Rosie Haskel witnessing two crooked cops killing a not so innocent rat bastard. The crooked cops didn't see Rosie so she tries to get away without being seen. She fails. And the chase is on! But sweet Rosie is younger and not full of fried foods and beer. Unlike those two so she got away. FOR NOW!!!! (On a side note let that be a lesson to all you crooked cops, eat right and exercise or your unforeseen witness will get away.)

We return to the hero of this book John McClane, with semi rat bastard Officer Bingham where they capture a most deadly criminal, a flasher hippie. John McClane had everything under control, but Officer Bingham gave the damn dirty hippie a whack with his baton. John didn't like that, but Officer Bingham didn't care.

We switch over to a YMCA club with Alan Douglas on the phone he was just informed that the plan didn't go as planed.

Back to John, where John gets introduced to more of the cast this time Daina Ford, they exchange words.

We see Rosie again riding a subway.

Now back to Alan Ford he gets a gyro (which are quite yummy), he talked shop with the vendor about the yacht that was parked there, a yacht that is own by...

Walden Ford! We see John and Daina in the background, then it switches to them, Daina is flirting with John, but John doesn't care for her, John does spy our runaway witness Rosie and his cops instinct kicks in, he knows she was a victim of some sort of police brutality.

We rejoin our bad guy cops they met up with Officer Bingham, and they spun a story about looking for Rosie, Officer Bingham says he will keep a eye out.

Back to John and the happy couple. Lots of awkwardness going on. John is wishing he was someone else.

The crooked cops see Rosie again and gave chase but once again she got away, John meets up with Officer Bingham, and Alan Douglas and the two cops whining about how they screwed up, but Alan Douglas basically says by morning one murder is nothing, compared to what is coming up. OHHHH scary!

Art:

I like it, not much more to say.

Overall:

This is like a chess issue where all the pieces are put into play, and are setting up for checkmate. Still don't know what the big overall plan is yet, and I'm getting anxious to know what it is, hopefully in issue 3 everything will be made clear.
