This week on View from the Gutters, our topic work is Strange Attractors, by Charles Soule, Greg Scott, and Robert Saywitz. Set in present day New York City, Strange Attractors is the story of a young graduate student, an aging math professor, and the odd magic they weave protecting New York from collapsing into chaos.
It features an elegant style of artwork which grounds the realism of the story, and impresses upon the reader just how close we are to a world like this one. It's also a great story if you like math wizards and acts of SCIENCE! While not necessarily to everyone's tastes, Strange Attractors is another incredible independent release by Archaia Press, who have published several great works previously either recommended or discussed on the podcast, including Jim Henson's Tale of Sand.
In our recommendation section our hosts nominated Global Frequency, Thor: God of Thunder, Vol. 1 & 2, Saga, Vol. 1, Young Avengers: Sidekicks, and Superior Spider-Man, Vol. 1 for discussion on the next episode, and our selected title is Thor: God of Thunder, Vol. 1 & 2.
Our hosts for this episode were Andrew Chard, Joe Preti, Matt McGinnis, Tobiah Panshin, and Cade Reynolds.
