View from the Gutters #41 — Thor: God of Thunder

This week on View from the Gutters the topic is Thor: God of Thunder by Jason Aaron and Esad Ribic.

This week on View from the Gutters, our topic work is Thor: God of Thunder, Vol. 1 & 2, by Jason Aaron and Esad Ribic. Collecting the first two arcs of the Marvel NOW relaunch of Thor, this series takes a closer look at Thor not purely as a hero, but as a god. Thor follows a mysterious trail of dead gods across time and space, learning about and confronting the mysterious godbutcher across three different times.

Beautifully illustrated by Esad Ribic, God of Thunder is one of the best Marvel NOW relaunches (a crowded field, to say the least). It addresses an element of Thor which has been long neglected, and leaves nothing on the field when it comes to showing the spectacle and grandeur of the god of thunder unleashed.

In our recommendation section our hosts nominated Loaded Bible, Book 1: The Jesus vs. Vampires Gospels, Daughters of the Dragon, Flash: Fastest Man Alive, and Justice League of America: The Tornado's Path for discussion on the next episode, and our selected title is Loaded Bible, Book 1: The Jesus vs. Vampires Gospels.

Our hosts for this episode were Andrew Chard, Joe Preti, Tobiah Panshin, and Cade Reynolds.
