In a week of surprises, RU talks comics while waiting for a drink.
The Return Of Bruce Wayne #2, Green Lantern Corps #48, Savage She-Hulks #3 (Of 3), The Thanos Imperative: Ignition, Thunderbolts #144, Secret Avengers #1, and Northlanders #28
as usual, text RUViews are below
The Return Of Bruce Wayne #2 – I really hated Issue number one of this series. I felt that, much like most of DC’s recent #1s, it was not new reader friendly. Not only did people have to understand Final Crisis but also it seemed that they had to be reading Batman & Robin and Booster Gold. On the other hand, #2 was great. The story, the art, the whole package. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this comic and, unlike last month, I am look forward to the next issue.
Green Lantern Corps #48 – This must be the week of surprises. Based on his Teen Titans and Exiles runs, I did not expect to last long on a Tony Bedard Green Lantern book, but this issue told a very compelling story that did not retell Blackest Night, but used that event to move forward. If this keeps up, I will remain with this book past #50.
Savage She-Hulks #3 (of 3) – fall of the Hulks has been a fun event, and this series was a good introduction, for me, to Lyra.
The Thanos Imperative: Ignition – Fuck yea! Great story, passable art, and a hell of a reveal at the end. I recently had the honor of interviewing Abnet and Lanning and you can find that link at www.theouthosuers.com.
Thunderbolts #144 – Jeff Parker, you sucked up until now with your Thunderbolts run, but now with a new team you’d better step it up, and if this issue is a hint of things to come, you are on the right direction. Marvel, if you are tuning Zemo evil again I will have to kill some one. PS – the art n this was boring.
Secret Avengers #1 – Hype machine you sure did let me down. This was not a bad book, but after months of teasers reality hit this book pretty damn hard. I liked it, but when you are being followed, saying that no one saw you comes off as idiotic. I really hope that Brubaker doesn’t ignore all of Nova’s character development and turn him back into an idiot. The highlights had to be Moon Knight and Ant-Mans interactions and recruitments.
Northlanders #28 – The best storyline yet of this series comes to an end. This is an anthology book, so if you have never read any of these stories or read one and didn’t like it pick up this trade, you should not be disappointed. I hope that we return to some of these characters later like we did Sven.

RU, or as he’s known in the writers’ room: the cute one, is relatively unappreciated in his time. RU’s YouTube show, RUviews is watched by literally multiple people every month and his Outhouse articles have helped line many a bird cage. Before you send RU a message, he knows that there are misspelled words in this article, and probably in this bio he was asked to write. RU wants everyone to know that after 25+ years of collecting he still loves comic books and can’t believe how seriously fanboys take them. RU lives in Akron Ohio (unfortunately) with WIFE, ‘lilRuRu, and the @DogGodThor. You can also find him on Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, & even Google+ (if anyone still uses that).
