It has returned. Need I say more?
Credits & Solicit Info:
Dear God? The last time we've had a new Venture Brothers was in December?! It feels just like yesterday I reviewed Brock Samson and Henchman 21's glorious team-up. Well thank goodness this show has returned. I can watch television and be fully entertained again!
So pretty much this episode something is plaguing Doctor Venture. To find out the answer, Hank, Dean, Brock, and Shoreleave go Fantastic Voyage (or is it Inner Space?) in a journey inside the good doctor's body. Meanwhile the Monarch is having a mid-life crisis and Henchmen 21 is pestering Mrs. Monarch for upgraded tech. Boy is this episode freaking packed.
Again dear God am I glad this show is back. I've so missed this show and no surprise I love this episode. I mean come on the Monarch gets a goblin-glider in this episode (the butter-glider). But come on it's a goblin-glider! And if anyone knows me I love goblin tech so yeah I'm already bias into loving this episode.
The jokes fly by at the minute as always and they're hilarious. From the Billy and White on their ten million dollar motorcycle, the House homage of what befallen Doctor Venture, Operation quips with Hank, Dean, and Shoreleave with Brock as the straight-man to the joke, and it's answer, the Monarch's butter-glider song, There are so many damn jokes in this and they so work.
Everything just clicks in this episode for me, even Sgt. Hatred. He is even funny in this episode. The Brock block will now go down as to what Hatred is till Brock replaces him. What the heck!? One of the best parts of the episode even involved him when he confronted the Monarch's minions by himself only to get his ass handed to him and him just going insane.
About the only thing that felt off was the 21 and ghost 23's talk with Mrs. Monarch. I mean sure it continues the subplot with 21 lusting over Mrs. Monarch but it now adds to the two coming at an agreement to the logical sense that the Monarch's henchmen are so damn poorly equipped and need an upgrade. Even a small hint of Brock having to chose SPHINX over the Venture family. Okay and the ludicrous love the Monarch has with his butter-glider. That was just wrong (but hey I would do it too if I got a goblin-glider). SHUT UP! DON'T JUDGE ME AND MY LOVE OF GOBLIN TECH!
So yeah this episode ruled. I'm so glad this show is back and now I can waste thirty minutes of my life once more reviewing this show. Sure this episode is fully perfect, but I'll be damned if it was entertaining and hilarious as hell. Oh and please more butter-glider!!! Oh and the end had me dying with laughter too. WELCOME BACK VENTURE BROTHERS!!
4.5 out of 5 (it be 3.5 but due to goblin-glider homage I give it an extra full point. SHUT UP! Goblins rule! Especially the Hobgoblin!)
