War of Kings #2
All of the fundamentals of what make a solid comic are here. The writing is nice. The art is nice. The thing is that this still feels like set up to me. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed this comic and found some bits of it to be cool. The main problem, and I guess that this is due in part to my expectations, is that there's not enough mainline cosmic characters involved.
This is Marvel's big cosmic event and I'd like it if there were some cosmic mainstays like Quasar and Starlord that would show up. Hell, my socks would be rocked off if Rocket Raccoon and Medusa were on the same page kicking Shi'ar ass. The stuff that I mention might happen down the line, but for now I'm a bit disapointed. Though things are flowing at a nice pace, it's just not what I was looking for in this series, so far.

Billy Batson and the Magic of Shazam #4
If you're the type that wants a solid comic that isn't filled with doom and gloom, buy this comic. Mike Kunkel has delivered the fun with the previous three issues and this issue is no exception. Even though the wait between issues is long, this series is worth it.

Dark Reign: Fantastic Four #2
If this were written by a typical writer, this would be an average comic. Jonathan Hickman is no typical writer. He takes what should be a by the numbers comic and makes it fun. Add some nice Sean Chen pencils and this comic is a keeper.

Flash: Rebirth #1
A nice opening issue by Geoff Johns and Ethan Van Sciver. The basic setup was solid and it moved a nice pace. One thing that I want to point out is the choices that were made in some of the panel design. There are some moments that are wonderfully designed that give the comic a nice feel. Everything worked with this comic and I'm looking foward to the next issue.

Secret Warriors #3
Another great issue by Bendis, Hickman, and Caselli. Nice plot development with some solid dialogue. Not as interesting as the past two issues, but it's still a great issue.
