Jeremy Shane

Jeremy was born in a small mountain village of a strange foreign land called Weystvurginea.  Banishment for liberal views saw him spend years wondering the east coast until he decided to bike to California.  When he saw how long a trip it was, he drove instead.  Now he's living it up in a low humidity climate, sometimes working on his photography and when not, he writes for us covering books (by way of his blog: Reading Realms), gaming, tv, movies, comics, conventions in the SoCal area, and creates a weekly webcomic: A Journey Through Skyrim.  If you look for him offline, start in the L.A. area; online start at: www.jeremyshane.info for his profile and all the social networks he's on... or just follow him on twitter, he seems to be on there a lot: @jeremyshane.

Outhousers talk Comics - Week of 9/14/11

Outhousers talk Comics - Week of 9/14/11

By xaraan in Blog on September 19, 2011

New Avengers #16 “Heh, those first 2 pages were basically a big ‘fuck you’ from Bendis to those whiny internet trolls who can’t get over Wolverine and Spider-Man and others being Avengers.” - Punchy “You know what would really be a big “fuck you” to Bendis haters? Actually writing a good Avengers comic.” - Mike Mercury “The whole celebrity interview format that the comic is in sucks.” - Hab “There were parts of this issue I loved and parts that I really didn’t like. I enjoyed seeing Daredevil rescue Squirrel Girl and the Cage baby. The action sequences during thoise portions made this issue. I wasn’t a fan of the oral history of the Avengers parts though.” - Stephen Day “It’s just boring and wordy for the sake of being wordy.” - Frag It “I liked DD and the stuff they had him doing, I liked the idea of the FU to the haters of the new avengers members and all that; but thought it was pretty weak having to break the third wall in order to get the point across” - xaraan Fear Itself #6 “Fraction finally reminded me why i absolyutely loved his writing no less than just a year ago. by FAR the best issue of this event…” - Chap22 “Captain America facing up to Odin was fucking cool, as was Thor getting some new armour and Tony jumping into the molten iron. Lots of the big, widescreen moments you want in a crossover, but also character-driven smaller scenes like Spider-Man’s reunion with Aunt May.” - Punchy “I really enjoyed this issue. Lots of cool moments.” - Frag It “This was by far the best issue of the series. Too bad it took six issues for it to happen.” - DeadFett “This is the “best issue”? … - Amoebas Batwoman #1 “I thought this was a very solid ‘#1’ for Batwoman. Great artwork, the story and new case looks interesting.” - Timbales “…this character that has been around for less than ten years feels like an old friend coming back for another visit. This is a definite keeper to the new 52.” - Starlord “Great comic, I really loved it.” - Royal Nonesuch Daredevil #3 “If you’re not reading it, you should be.” - Starlord Deathstroke #1 “As bad as the new Suicide Squad got, it still managed to stay above Deathstroke.” - fieldy snuts “I know I said I was going to read all of them, but do I really have to read this one?” - Mike Mercury “I liked Deathstroke #1. It wasn’t the best DCnU book by a long shot, but it was WAY better than Hawk & Dove.” - Comic-Doctor “I look back at the 15 minutes I spent reading Deathstroke #1 and I weep because I could have better spent that time doing anything other than reading Deathstroke #1.” - Amoebas Readers can also vote on Moment of the Week, Cover of the Week and Comic of the Week for 9/14/11 at the Outhouse.Authors: xaraanRead more http://theouthouseblog.tumblr.com/post/10406941679
