Before the new trilogy of Star Wars movies hit theaters, a publishing initiative was launched to promote the first of the movies, Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The initiative was titled Journey to Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and included the Shattered Empire mini-series by Marvel. The next movie in the new trilogy, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, is coming to theaters in December and it looks like it will be getting its own "Journey to…" titles.
One of the first characters we saw from Star Wars: The Force Awakens was Captain Phasma (Gwendoline Christie). The character look pretty cool in the chrome new Stormtrooper armor. She sort of had a Boba Fett "ending" though, being forced to help our heroes to access Starkiller Base and then getting stuffed into a garbage compactor. Well, we knew the character would be back in The Last Jedi, and it was proved in today's teaser trailer. How did she escape what happened to her in The Force Awakens?
Well, you should get your answer in the Journey to Star Wars: The Last Jedi comic 4-part mini-series, Star Wars: Captain Phasma. The comic will be written by Kelly Thompson with art by Marco Checchetto. It will start in September and is being published by Marvel.

You might be thinking "well duh the Star Wars comic is published by Marvel, that's Star Wars comics now". If so, you'd be wrong nerfherder! Also a part of the Journey to Star Wars: The Last Jedi publishing program is a new comic anthology series, Star Wars Adventures published by IDW. No creative team has yet been announced for the series, but it being a kick off for "a wider line of Star Wars comics aimed at younger audiences".
