Hasbro Characters Collide Again In IDW's 'First Strike' Event

Destroy all Cybertronians

Last year IDW decided to crossover many of its Hasbro properties and created a shared universe in their Revolution  event. Now there is sort of a "Hasbro Comic Universe" where many of the characters can interact with one another. This year, IDW will be putting out another event (sorry Zechs, My Little Pony hasn't been added to the mix yet), this time titled First Strike.

First Strike will be a six-issue series (shipping 2 issues a month) written by Mairghread Scott and David Rodriguez, with art by Max Dunbar. The story starts with Earth on the verge of joining the Cybertronian Council of Worlds (Transformers). The process is interrupted by Cobra and Baron Ironblood (G.I. Joe), who wants to destroy every Cybertronian. Don't worry M.A.S.K. will also get involved, and judging from the cover to the first issue, so will ROM.

Scott comments on the event's story:

"One man attempts to dominate, one woman stands against him" … "Watch as Scarlett leads her G.I. Joes on a daring mission to save all of Cybertron from their gravest threat yet. ‘First Strike’ is a fast-paced, hard-hitting, and deeply personal character story set against the backdrop of intergalactic war with all the giant robots, cyborg ninjas, and massive explosions you could ask for."

Also don't worry, like any good event, there will be tie-in comics. Here are the covers to the first issue, along with the solicitation text for the first two issues. The event starts in August.
