Manhattan Comics and More, a NYC based comic store located on E. 23rd St., has closed. While the store was open as late as May 5, customers were informed by building employees starting Monday that the store was either closed or moving locations. The store made the news official today on Facebook and Twitter when they posted a brief announcement.
Sadly, Sunday, May 5 was Manhattan Comics' last day of business. It was a honor to serve all of my customers these past 2-1/2 years. You will be missed.
All pull lists, holds and special orders will be honored by the newly opened Carmine Street Comics, located at 34 Carmine St.
It's unknown whether the store owner Robert Conte's recent hospitalization had anything to do with the closing. The store did not answer calls for a comment.
Our friends at Nix Comics are sponsoring The Outhouse this week. Show them you appreciate it by checking out their comics. One dollar from every Nix Comics sold this month will go to Kirby-4-Heroes.
