While it is known that there is a future for Star Wars animation on television after the demise of the Clone Wars series, little else is known about the project. Though not much has changed about that, there are hints that may be trickling out about what might be coming.
I’m pleased to share that Dave Filoni and many members of his Clone Wars team are already hard at work developing a new Star Wars animated series set in a time period previously untouched in Star Wars films or television programming. I’m hoping we will have more details to share with all of our fans soon.
So, now we know that Dave Filoni is indeed involved with the upcoming Star Wars animated project. Does this mean his tweet and Facebook posting from a few days ago hold a clue to this "previously untouched" time period?
The tweet and Facebook post were basically the same message but had different images attached. The message was basically "I have worked at Lucasfilm almost eight years, and this is the first time I have ever gotten to draw a TIE fighter". Since he mentioned worked and "gotten to" that may be that the image is linked to the project.
Hard to believe that I've worked at LFL almost 8 yrs, & this is the first time I have gotten to draw a TIE fighter. twitter.com/dave_filoni/st…— Dave Filoni (@dave_filoni) May 7, 2013

Hopefully we'll get more news soon
