The movie rumor mill has been all a flutter recently with T5 talk, I'm pretty sure el presidente is lost somewhere in the storm, or... he is a Verizon user, perhaps the government has been harassing him. Hopefully, he will surface soon as I just don't have his network of sources to be breaking this as a scoop.
First was the news that Arnold would return for Terminator 5. Initially it was mentioned that perhaps he would play a terminator unit again, but the WWE Examiner is saying different:
T5 may be a prequel set in the days of Sarah Connor’s parents, marking the first time terminators have been sent back in time to kill a character that existed before both John and Sarah Connor.
Incredibly, Schwarzenegger may not play the role of a machine in the next film, but a potentially heroic human figure in or close to the Connor family. One theory is that Schwarzenegger’s remarkable ability to protect the Connor family in the 1940s or 1950s with antiquated weaponry by today’s standards ultimately inspired the machines to develop a terminator in his likeness that was eventually sent to 1984 when Sarah Connor was first targeted for termination.
Though they cite no sources, we all know how reliable professional wrestling is when it comes to facts. The WWE Examiner does seem more sure about the Rock rumor however, though it's important to note that just because a script is being developed with an actor in mind, doesn't mean that actor will accept the role.
We’re told the script is now being developed and with one fellow action movie star in mind for the role of T5′s most sinister machine. A source close to Annapurna Films exclusively tells WWE Examiner Friday morning that one version of the script is being produced specifically for The Rock himself.
One thing is for certain, The Rock being in an action movie definitely stirs interest a bit more than Arnold does these days. Hopefully the amount of FX work needed to make Arnold look good comes off his pay.
