Source: 'Crossing Lines': William Fichtner Reveals 'Sons Of Anarchy' Star Joining Show
The revelation was revealed when Finchtner was doing an interview for the Huffington Post for his new show: Crossing Lines (which just so happens to be premiering this Sunday night). In the interview he revealed the role he'd be playing in Michael Bay's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (recently Bay was forced to put the Teenage Mutant back into the title).
That role is... the Shredder.
Here's the quote from the interview:
What are you doing in "Ninja Turtles"?
I play Shredder. It is cool. It's one of those things that came along where I thought, "Really? Let me think about this for a minute." [Laughs] Then I was like, "Yeah, OK, this sounds like a journey." I'm very glad that it worked out, I'm really glad that I'm doing it.
Yes, even Finchtner thought taking the role would be ridiculous. Also, with Finchtner confirming the role and with the military styled Foot Soldiers spotted on set. This can mean only one thing: Colonel Schrader lives on in the "updated" script.
God help us all.
Though, here at the Outhouse instead of seeing next summer's catastrophe of a film produced by Michael Bay. Instead, this reporter suggests you see an old early 90s film which surprisingly got every aspect of TMNT right. In fact, it even portrays the Shredder as he was in the comics, as an actual Asian, not part of the military, and not white-washing him (even though Finchtner does bad guys good, but this. Ugh... Just ugh.). Who knew this portrayal is so hard a concept for Michael Bay to get? In the mean-time here's Shredder done absolutely 100% correct:
