At first I could barely believe it myself, but as more and more sites ran the news, it began to sink in: Marvel has another movie scheduled in 2016.
Phase two of their movie schedule wraps on May 1st with The Avengers, rolling into phase three with Ant-Man. They've sectioned off three more dates without movies attached so far: May 6th, 2016, May 5th, 2017, and today adding July 6th, 2016.
What does this mean? I only hope more information is released before July of 2016 about the announced movie(s), because it will be very difficult for Marvel to sell tickets to a movie called Untitled that nobody knows anything about. Plus, we all know we all know how hard it is to get details about upcoming superhero movies because comic book media sites don't run ten articles a day reporting on useless rumors or posting blurry set pics for a year preceding the movie's release.
Future Marvel Movie Schedule as it stands:
- Thor: The Dark World on November 8, 2013
- Captain America: The Winter Soldier on April 4, 2014
- Guardians of the Galaxy on August 1, 2014
- The Avengers 2 on May 1, 2015 (end of Phase Two)
- Ant-Man on November 6, 2015 (beginning of Phase Three)
- Untitled on May 6, 2016
- Untitled on July 6, 2016
- Untitled on May 5 2017
Actually, come to think of it, the way superhero movies are doing, they might be able to sell tickets to a movie called 'Untitled.' Now, if you'll excuse me, I have some blurry set pics to go post.
