Like much of the news from SDCC I seem to get more of it when I'm not at the convention than when I am inside it. I heard about this rescue from others that evening and just now got the full story.
A heavily intoxicated woman, distraught over a break-up, took to the outside of her balcony and can be seen hanging on to the rail in a pretty worrisome fashion in the video below:
Stuntmen from Kick-Ass 2, setting up for a live event at SDCC, were nearby and seeing the commotion, rushed to pull her back inside.
“The (stunt) coordinator and I were up on a scissor lift and we were a good 30 to 40 feet in the area already working when we turned around and looked. There was just a lot of commotion - people were screaming and pointing.”
She was very apologetic and distraught once she was back inside the apartment. The men said they are trained to 'save' people in film scenes, but those are people expecting them to rush in and take action. This was something a bit different.
