Valiant VP Of Marketing Hunter Gorinson, Josh Johns, Jodi Houser and Daniel Kibblesmith took to the C2E2 stage on Sunday to discuss what's coming up for their comics universe.

First up, Secret Weapons, a new prestige format book by Eric Heisserer, Raul Allen and Patricia Martin, will have a prominent affect the Harbinger Wars 2 arc. This one deals with all the psiots discarded by Toyo Harada.

Free Comic Book Day
on May 6th, will offer an impressive preview of upcoming titles and the events coming up in the Valiant Universe. It's titled Valiant: X-O Manowar FCBD 2017 Special.

Faith
writer Jody Houser and artist Joe Eisma discussed "The Faithless", a group of Faith's L.A. villains who she's met in LA over time, including the main villain, Chris Chriswell, who decides on the super-villain team up since "that's how supervillains work". And watch out for the evil talking cat. Faith will then go "full sci-fi" with Faith and the Future Force. The new Timewalker, Neela Sethi, will need Faith's help dealing with a sentient A.I.  The four issues are premised on "if at first you don't succeed, try, try again", using a "cyclical" format. Each time "loop" features a different artist. Look for this series in July.

Another turning point in July will be Harbinger: Renegade #5. This comic's event is called "Massacre" and is comes with a warning cover for graphic content, since a major character will die. It's the first time in the company's history that not all the employees know what's happening in a book.

Rounding out July, we have Bloodshot's Day Off #1 written by Eliot Rahal, art by Khari Evans, and cover by Kano. This comic actually features two Bloodshots along with Vietnam and Tankman from Bloodshot Island.

September
sees a new ongoing Bloodshot series called Bloodshot: Salvation, by Jeff Lemire, Lewis Larosa and Mico Suayan. In this arc we'll be looking at the consequences of family life and responsibilities. The book will jump between the birth and early life of Bloodshot's daughter Jesse, and then moving forward in time to her childhood, showing signs of being like her father. Jesse is supposed to become a "major, major  character in the Valiant Universe" in the future.

Matt Kindt and Trevor Hairsine will be reunited on Eternity, a new series that introduces "an entire universe". The beings who inhabit this place may be even more powerful than Divinity himself. Look for this to hit the racks in October.

Another new announcement is Ninja-K. This November Christos Gage and Tomas Giorello are going to pick up the character from Kindt's run and will develop a complete history of the Ninja program, starting with Ninja-A in World War I. From WWI it then progresses through 50 to 70 years of history as each ninja is trained. Then in the modern day someone starts killing off veterans of the ninja program.

Coming in December, an all-new ongoing series for Quantum & Woody  by Daniel Kibblesmith and Kano. It promises to be a jump away from status quo as the brothers are "totally estranged". Quantum and Woody have "the fight" that finally breaks them up, and at first we don't know what caused it. It will turn out that Eric knew who Woody's birth dad was, and didn't tell him.

The final tease is that Shadowman will definitely be coming back on March 28th, 2018. Valiant promises to put the same energy into this that they did for X-O Manowar released on the same date in 2017.

About the Author - IvCNuB4

IvCNuB4 likes to maintain an air of mystery by never publicly revealing his true name unless you are one of the four lucky Outhouse posters he has PM'd it to. A life-long Chicago native, he was introduced to comics by his older brother's vast collection of Silver Age issues. When he is not at his day job as an IT geek or making the most of Chicago's three months of incredible summer, he can found spending way too much time with his very large, very loud Italian family. You will never find him on the likes of Facebook or Twitter as he scoffs at the necessity of most forms of social media.
